Today I am missing my dad a lot. He passed away four years ago today. Four years ago my life was changed forever. The dark memories of that day I frequently pray never happened, that it was just a nightmare. Dad was a great man, he wasn’t perfect, but he was great. He was also a great poet. I wanted share some of his poetry, more for me than for you
but I thought it would help remember Dad’s life, not his death.
Come To The Well Again
Come to the well again
And slake your thirst.
Drink deeply of the
Living Water offered there.
Come to the well again
And lay your burdens down.
Rest awhile at the Master’s feet.
Be at Peace
And draw strength from Him
Come to the well again.
Song of the Seraphin
‘Holy, holy, holy’ the Seraphin proclaim.
Not once, but three times blessed.
‘Holy, holy, holy’ is Your Name.
At your feet I find eternal rest.
Throughout time have they sung,
And forever will they sing,
Standing around His throne of glory
Giving never-ending praises to the King.
Oh, to sing with that celestial chorus,
To be part of that glorious choir,
Knowing what awaits us
And faith is all that it requires.
‘Holy, holy, holy.’
Dad’s life was radically transformed after he accepted Christ as his Savior in his mid-forties. He loved Jesus wanted to be more and more a vessel for Christ.
Let Revival Begin With Me!
Let me awaken to the Spirit within
Let my heart pound and my pulse race.
Make me burn once more with desire for Him.
Let revival begin with me.
Let praises once more be found on my lips.
Cause my thirst for the Word to become unquenchable again.
Fan into flame once more the love I have for Jesus.
Let revival begin with me.
Strip away my complacency
Make me stumble over my contentedness.
Set dissatisfaction upon my soul
So that I cry out for forgiveness once more.
Make my every breath a praise or prayer.
Let me lift the spirits of those around me.
Let them see God in me.
Oh, dear Jesus,
Let revival begin with me!
