Well, we’re wrapping up the second half of our phone blitz. As of today we have 55 accepted and 47 in process. That is so exciting! One girl, B, I talked with today has submitted her application and is waiting for a reference to come in. It was great talking with her. When I asked her about her giftings, she confidently told me prayer. She followed it up by saying that she also has faith in prayer, not just praying because we “should,” but because God hears and answers. Please pray for B as she considers which trip she should go on this summer.
Here’s some info that we share with potential Edgers about one of the trips this summer:
Use your trade or heart for community service and development and find unique opportunities to build relationships with this Central Asian people, working in a relatively open Islamic setting.
Visit an orphanage engaging in preset activities that allow for relational interaction with children. You will also attend an orphanage summer camp.
Teach English Clubs through NGO programs.
Experience the work of Prayer Walking in various settings both urban and rural.
Why go? You will benefit from their exposure and experiences working in a relatively open Islamic setting. If you desire to use your trade or heart for community service and development, you will find unique opportunities to build relationships with the people here. Such service will in turn create connections and a contact for long-term personnel to follow and deepen relationships leading hopefully to conversion. You will discover ways and roles in which to return as a career worker, able to engage in meaningful ministry among this Central Asian people group.
