Two years ago a funny thing happened. It was a pretty day. The rain the day before cleared away the smoke from the recent fires. It was a beautiful day. I woke up before my alarm (shocking, I know) and began to get ready for the best day of my life. How does one do that, get ready for the best thing that has ever happened? I don’t know how, but I did it. My matron of honor of awesomeness, JH, picked me up and we were off to JS’ house to get ready. The other bridesmaids arrived and we relaxed, eating some fruit and other goodies that JS’ mom made for us. We got our hair and makeup done and then it was off to the church.
It’s funny how the “old lady” parlor room became the most exciting room in the whole church.
And then it was time. The moment you always see in the movies and wonder what that feels like. It rocks. The doors open and there is your beloved, standing what seems like forever away, and all you have to do is make it to the front of the church and you’ll be his forever. I made it.
The past 2 years have been great. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not perfect, but we truly, deeply love each other. I love him and the funny thing is, is that he loves me, too. I don’t always deserve it, but he loves me. Me, with all of my flaws and imperfections, he loves me.
This is just the beginning, the start. I think I like where things are going…
